Harrison County Chamber of Commerce presents awards at 105th Awards Dinner

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) — Various businesses and community members were honored Thursday night as the Harrison County Chamber of Commerce held its 105th Awards Dinner at the Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center.

During the dinner, the following awards were presented:

• New Business of the Year
• Citizen of the Year
• Community Champion of the Year
• Young Entrepreneur
• Business of the Year
• Lifetime Commitment Chairman Award
• Outstanding Leadership Award.

Through the awards dinner, the business community and community leaders can connect and network with one another while enjoying plenty of food and drinks.

“And it’s always important to recognize our businesses for their successes. Sometimes it’s unsung, and we want to bring attention to that. Sometimes it’s the little things that they do that don’t often get recognized,” Harrison County Chamber of Commerce President Kathy Wagner said.

Representatives from the Harrison County Chamber of Commerce said many exciting things are going on in the county and that the county is the “star” in north central West Virginia with all the development it has going on.

“We wouldn’t be this long-standing if it wasn’t for our business community that supports us. It takes our members. We’ve got 460 members right now and we’re just thankful for each and every one of them. They’re what keeps us going and they’re why we do what we do and that’s to promote a vibrant business climate and community through active and engaged members,” Wagner said.

Also during the awards dinner, the chamber of commerce hosted a graduation for Leadership Harrison’s 27th class with each member of the class receiving certificates.
