FLORENCE, S.C. (WBTW) — Federal agents with the Office of Inspector General for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services responded to Physicians Footcare in Florence on Wednesday.

“HHS-OIG personnel were at that location today. We cannot provide any additional information at this time,” the agency told News13.

Patients reported not being allowed inside the building. When News13 called the office on Wednesday morning, it said it was currently closed.

The agency’s website says they have “been at the forefront of the Nation’s efforts to fight waste, fraud and abuse and to improving the efficiency of Medicare, Medicaid and more than 100 other Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) programs.”
