HONEA PATH, S.C. (WSPA) – A series of storms brought windy weather and quarter-sized hail all over the Upstate early Thursday morning.

Amidst the gusting winds – some of which knocked trees into houses or blew rooftops off of buildings – one resident in Honea Path was lucky enough to capture video of a funnel cloud forming in the sky.

Video taken by Lori Dozier at around 2 a.m. shows the funnel cloud forming. The cloud is difficult to see in the low light, but flashes of lightning illuminate the funnel as it is forming.

The National Weather Service said the area was under a tornado warning at the time the video was taken, and survey crews will be in the area on Friday to determine if the tornado touched down. Survey crews will also be in Laurens and southern Greenville Counties.
