‘The Righteous Gemstones’ star, Edi Patterson, to perform in improv shows at Theatre 99 this weekend

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD)- Fans of HBO’s ‘The Righteous Gemstones’ will have a chance to see one of the hit show’s stars in action this weekend in Charleston.

Edi Patterson, who plays Judy Gemstone, is scheduled to join the Impro Theater company for two performances of “Tennessee Williams Unscripted” at Theatre 99.

“Inspired by Tennessee Williams’ masterful storytelling and delicious language, Impro Theatre starts with a single audience suggestion and builds improvised full-length plays that are hilarious, yet tragic as a Southern belle’s broken heart,” a description of the show reads.

Kelly Holden-Bashar, Dan O’Connor, and Cory Rouse are also part of the cast.

The first show will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 1. Fans can click here to buy tickets.

The shows are part of Theatre 99’s Piccolo Fringe series, a 16-day festival that is an official part of the Piccolo Spoleto Arts Festival.

Theatre 99 is located at 280 Meeting Street. Doors open 30 minutes before each show.
