USPS hosts hiring event to fill immediate openings

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The United States Postal Service is hosting a hiring event at three locations on Thursday to fill immediate openings.

According to officials, the special hiring events in August aim to fill immediate openings for the positions of Rural Carrier Associates and Assistant Rural Carriers across the state.

“By joining the Postal Service, candidates will benefit from comprehensive health and retirement benefits, great wages, and extensive training opportunities,” said USPS.

The following in-person job fairs are scheduled Thursday from 10 a.m. through 2 p.m. :

• Dorchester County Library (Offsite location) – 76 Old Trolly Rd, Summerville, SC 29485

• James Island Post Office – 579 Folly Road, Charleston, SC 29412

• North Charleston Post Office – 6401 Rivers Ave, N Charleston, SC 29406

USPS personnel will be on-site to provide additional information about the positions.

Officials say applicants must be 18+, have a valid SC Driver’s License, must use a personal vehicle, and be able to pass drug screening and a criminal background investigation.
