Champaign Park Districts offers free admission to two places as cooling centers

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — The Champaign Park District is helping residents stay cool with free admission to two of their fitness centers.

The Park District opened Martens Center and Leonhard Recreation Center Tuesday as cooling centers for the day as free admission. Officials ask for a valid ID to show entry.

Hours on Tuesday for both the Martens Center and Leonhard Recreation Center are 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

All Park District outdoor programming was cancelled for the day.
