Miami University celebrates over 4,000 degrees at commencement

OXFORD, Ohio ( WDTN ) — Miami University held its 185th Spring Commencement on Saturday.

During Miami’s graduation ceremony, 4,099 degrees were awarded, including 3,480 bachelor’s degrees, 419 master’s degrees, 131 certificates, 56 associate degrees and 13 doctorates.

The top three fields including marketing, finance and psychology.

Students, family, staff and faculty celebrated the occasion at Yager Stadium on campus.

Brian Niccol, chairman and CEO of Chipotle Mexican Grill, was this year’s commencement speaker. Niccol graduated from Miami in 1996 with a bachelor’s degree in Applied Science, Engineering Management, and has maintained strong ties to the university since.

Graduates represent 43 U.S. states and 23 countries.
