MetroParks to host summer preview festival

DAYTON, Ohio ( WDTN ) — Five Rivers MetroParks will kick off the summer season with their annual festival on Friday.

“Passport to the MetroParks”, held at RiverScape MetroPark, will showcase everything the MetroParks has to offer during the summer. The free festival is suitable for all ages.

MetroParks staff will lead more than a dozen activities and games, which highlight all the possibilities of the parks. Attendees can learn more about the recreation, education, and volunteer opportunities available during the summer.

For each activity completed, participants earn a stamp in their event passport. Those who complete the passport will be entered to win prizes.

Representatives from the Dayton Celtic Festival, Dayton African American Cultural Festival and Hispanic Heritage Festival will be in attendance, sharing information about their upcoming festivals as well.

The event will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, May 24. RiverScape MetroPark is located at 237 E. Monument Avenue, Dayton.
