DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Law enforcement will be out on the roadways across Ohio roads during Labor Day weekend.

From midnight on Aug. 30 to 11:59 p.m. on Sept. 2, troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol will be patrolling the roads in search of impaired drivers. During the traffic enforcement, troopers will be looking to identify and remove impaired drivers from the roads.

“Everyone traveling Ohio’s roads plays a part in keeping them safe this Labor Day,” said Colonel Charles A. Jones, superintendent of Ohio State Patrol. “By planning ahead and designating a sober driver, you contribute to making our roadways secure for all.”

In 2023, troopers made 417 OVI arrests during Labor Day weekend.

Drivers are encouraged to dial #677 if you suspect another driver is impaired or is involved in drug activity.
