Report: Carriage Horse Dies in Cape May, First Fatality in Four Decades
A carriage horse company is mourning the loss of one of its horses Thursday night in Cape May. NJ Advance Media reports the horse named “Ice” died on a cool evening in the resort. Woman faces charge of making false report about teen with gun on Wildwood boardwalk, prompting evacuation
A Bristol woman has been charged with fabricating a story about seeing a teenager enter Morey's Piers with a gun on the Wildwood boardwalk last weekend, authorities said. North Wildwood police responded to the area of 25th Street and the beach after Taylor Erickson, 29, allegedly reported that she saw a person with a weapon enter the amusement park on June 22.
Two teens charged in assault of man on North Wildwood boardwalk
Two teenagers have surrendered to authorities in North Wildwood to face charges stemming from an assault that happened on the boardwalk earlier this month, police said. A 17-year-old from Philadelphia and a 16-year-old from Ivyland, Bucks County, have each been charged with aggravated assault for the attack that happened June 8 on the boardwalk at 26th Street. The teens were not identified because they're juveniles.

Report: Court House Woman Charged in Massive Fraud Scheme
A 62 year old woman from Cape May Court House has been charged in connection with a massive nationwide fraud scheme involving nearly 200 people who committed insurance fraud. NJ.com reports Elizabeth Butterworth has been charged with possession and conspiracy to distribute controlled dangerous substances. According to the report, Butterworth prescribed oxycodone and similar medications under the condition a portion of the pills would be returned to her once the prescription was filled.

One person was injured after a dump truck failed to remain stopped for a red light and crashed into a pickup truck driven by a 61 year old Lewes man. Delaware State Police say the impact caused the dump truck to overturn spilling a load of rock and dirt onto Route 24. The Lewes man was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the dump truck, a 50 year old man from Salisbury, was not injured – he was cited for failing to obey a traffic control device and expired registration.
Lewes Man Faces 9th Home Improvement Fraud Charge in 7 Years
LEWES, DE - Lewes Police have arrested a man on a felony home improvement fraud charge after allegedly taking a large deposit from a senior and then never responding. Police say Jeremy Bowen, 45, of Lewes, entered into a contract to complete construction of a pool and fence in February. On June 27th, the victim reported to police he had given Bowen a down payment of $16,450 but had not heard from Bowen since despite several attempts to contact him.
