How a huge Hollywood talent became a local at this NJ coffee shop
It’s always cool and a little bit surreal when you come across a famous person when you least expect it. When I lived in LA, I saw Whoopi Goldberg driving past me and Laurie Metcalf waiting for someone outside of a movie theater in Glendale, just to name a few.

Heading to the shore anytime soon? You might want to slow down on the roads and be on the lookout for wildlife. It's been a very active nesting season for diamondback terrapins and they are constantly at risk of getting hit by cars as they try to cross busy roads, according to experts.

‘Tis the season to wow your summer guests
Gadzooks! The traditional midpoint of our 2024 season is just around the corner! And, true to form, my email boxes are overflowing with notes from locals who want their summertime houseguests to taste the best of our Culinary Coast (thank you, Southern Delaware Tourism, for that great description of our resort eateries). So it only seems right to shout out to a few of my pick hits that help keep our Cape Region a favorite dining destination.

This Great White Shark Nursery Near New York City Is Home to Over 200 Baby White Sharks
In a triangular area between Montauk Point, Long Island, Cape May, New Jersey, and New York City, there are hundreds of baby great white sharks! This area is now believed by researchers to be the North Atlantic’s primary and probably only great white shark nursery. Shark scientists have had a clue this nursery has been here since the mid-1980s, but its existence has only recently been confirmed. These are also the same waters where the world’s second-largest animal inhabits.
