Top 30 Purdue football players: No. 15 NT Cole Brevard

Purdue will begin preparations for the 2024 campaign soon in training camp, gearing toward the season-opener on August 31 at home vs Indiana State. Let’s count down the top 30 Boilermakers as we march to the start of Ryan Walters ‘ second season in West Lafayette.

No. 15 Cole Brevard, NT, Senior

The massive (6-3, 335) Cole Brevard is an anchor up front at a nose tackle spot that will be the strength of the line.

The Carmel, Ind., native has the power to hold the point of attack. He’s also able to get a push from the interior. Brevard needs to play well in concert with fellow nose tackle Mo Omonode if the Boilermaker defense hopes to reach its goals.

A “Star Wars” aficionado, Brevard began his career at Penn State, where he played his first two seasons in 2020 and 2021. He then returned to his home state, transferring to Purdue prior to the 2022 season. That year, he played in 14 games and made 10 tackles.

Last year, Brevard started in all 12 games and made nine tackles with 2.5 tackles for loss and a sack. He also recovered two fumbles.
