    Hudson McLaren Tied for 17th after Day One of the Class 3A State Golf Tournament

    (Ames) Atlantic Sophomore Hudson McLaren heads into day 2 of the Class 3A State Golf Tournament in a three-way tie for 17th with a seven over par 79.

    McLaren started strong with a two over par 38 on his first nine, scoring two birdies, four pars, two bogeys, and one double. On his second nine, he scored one birdie on his final hole, four pars, three bogeys and a triple.

    Easton Korell of ADM leads the field with a six-under-par 66, and Isaiah Zoske of Solon shot a four-under-par 68.

    Round two tees off at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the Veenker Memorial Golf Course in Ames. McLaren is in the first group with Isaiah Zoske of Solon, Parker Rodgers of Nevada, and Dawson Fueling of Independence.
