CHICAGO — This weekend’s Chicago Street Race is the third of five road courses on NASCAR’s 2024 Cup Series and Xfinity Series schedules. NASCAR made road-course stops at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, on March 24 and Sonoma (Calif.) Raceway on June 9. After Chicago, NASCAR has road-course races at Watkins Glen (N.Y.) International on Sept. 15 and Charlotte Motor Speedway Road Course on Oct. 13.

NASCAR reroutes local buses this week
Several local buses with South Loop routes are rerouted due to downtown road closures for this weekend’s NASCAR street race. Beginning Thursday night, July 4, the Chicago Transit Authority will reroute the #6 (Jackson Park Express) from DuSable Lake Shore Drive to the Stevenson Expressway and State Street.
