21-year-old arrested in deadly Westminster shooting

DENVER ( KDVR ) — A 21-year-old was arrested in Westminster after a deadly shooting.

On Thursday at around 4:30 p.m., Westminster Police Department officers responded to calls about a shooting at a house in the 3200 block of West 81st Avenue. The neighborhood sits at the corner of Bishop Square Park.

When officers arrived at the home, they found a male suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers said they rendered aid until medics arrived and transported the male to a local hospital. However, the victim was pronounced dead.

Westminster police said all involved in the shooting remained on scene. Fernando Arturo Gomez-Cordero, 21, was taken into custody on a manslaughter charge.

The identity of the victim will be released by the Adams County Coroner’s Office.
