New Skills Based Testing Program Offered
New Skills Based Testing Program Offered at Iowa Central Community College. Iowa Central Community College is pleased to announce a new opportunity for people interested in improving their work-related skills through proficiency-based testing in the areas of Industrial Machines and Industrial Mechanics. “We are now offering proficiency-based courses where students can earn their degree by completing courses using hands on skills through proficiency testing,” says Dr. Stacy Mentzer, Vice President of Instruction at Iowa Central Community College. “What is different about this process is that many employers in our nine-county service area need individuals with these skills and need them on the job. Proficiency-based testing creates a win-win situation because people can work while they gain the skills they need,” added Dr. Mentzer.
