Applications open for Women and Public Policy Fellowship

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEXSTAR) — The Center for Women in Government and Civil Society ‘s next installment of the Fellowship on Women and Public Policy runs from January to June, 2025. They’re accepting application on a rolling basis until the program fills up.

The program aims to encourage qualified students to pursue a public policy career.

The fellowship is for graduate students or “mid-level professionals”—workers beyond entry level—interested in public service and public policy and who want to develop their leadership skills. To apply, you need to have completed 12 or more credits of graduate coursework and at least three years of internship or work experience.

They select fellows from all fields of study, and the process is competitive. Applicants should be in good academic standing. Organizers of the fellowship do not list residency requirements or restrictions. To apply, you need:

1. Official transcripts from each college or university you’ve attended
2. A current resume
3. Two academic references
4. Three professional references
5. Two writing samples demonstrating critical thinking

Those accepted into the fellowship, considered full-time grad sutdents in the 2024 spring semester, must take nine credit hours of course work. They work 30 hours weekly in their field work placement in exchange for tuition assistance and a $13,500 stipend for living expenses.
