TIOGA COUNTY, Pa. ( WETM ) — Tioga County, Pennsylvania, residents who lost their water heaters during the flooding caused by the remnants of Hurricane Debby might be eligible to get a free replacement.

Develop Tioga is currently accepting grant applications to help community members replace their water heaters. Residents who no longer have working water heaters due to the flooding earlier this month can apply directly on Develop Tioga’s website or download a form. The completed application can be emailed to info@developtioga.org or mailed to the address at the bottom of the form if it was printed.

The application asks for your address, your contact information, details about your water heater (size, heat source, and height restriction), and if you filed a damage assessment form. The application also asks if you’re currently living at home and what you need to get back into your home if the flood displaced you.

The money for the water heater grants comes from donations made to the Tioga County Flood Relief Account. Approved grants will go directly to the approved vendor or contractor that provides the new water heater.
