TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – The temperatures outside are warm and muggy tonight. Fewer showers today are making for temperatures cooling down more slowly. Tonight we have partly cloudy skies and a light, warm breeze. Temperatures will settle down into the mid to upper seventies overnight. We do not expect overnight rain.

Tomorrow will start off nice & sunny in the seventies. We warm quickly into the upper eighties by the lunch hour. Saturday will be the drier day of the weekend, with only scattered chances for afternoon showers. A stray shower is possible in the morning, but most of the rain develops in the afternoon and heads inland. Most of the rain will be to the east of I-75. Inland showers fade around sunset.

Saturday is the drier day of the weekend, with 40% chances for early afternoon showers along I-75 and later afternoon showers over inland areas. Sunday stays drier longer, but the evening chances for rain will be widespread- we may see rain during the Bucs game Sunday evening.

Next week, classic summer downpours expected each afternoon with highs in the low 90s. We expect widespread late-afternoon and evening downpours each day, with 50-60% chances for rain.

Take a look at the areas of potential development in the tropics right now. One area over the open Atlantic only has a 10% chance to develop. Looking further west, there is an tropical wave that has a 40% chance to develop once it enters the southern Gulf – it will make for rainy weather in eastern Mexico. To the north of that, another are near Texas has a zero percent chance to develop. The wave in the North Atlantic also has a zero chance to develop.
