Chef Ken Polk says people get on airplanes to come and try the French toast — and everything else — at Batter & Berries.

“It is countrywide. It’s worldwide,” Polk says of the restaurant. “I’ve had people from every continent. At one point, I had four continents in the restaurant at one time.

“… Sometimes they come in with bags. They’re coming from the airport, or they’re on their way to the airport. So for some people, it’s the first stop in. For some people, it’s the last stop out, before they go.”

Polk and Batter & Berries Managing Owner Craig Richardson joined Sunday Brunch on the Weekend Morning News to make Ruby Rosé, a special Mother’s Day French toast.

“We’re kind of eclectic in what we offer,” Richardson says of the restaurant. “We’re a high-energy place. We kick it off in the morning with some House Music and some good food and a good atmosphere and bright colors.”

And not to be forgotten, having Batter & Berries on the show was a special birthday treat for Morning News anchor Sean Lewis.
