Gilbert juvenile arrested for allegedly attacking woman with knife

GILBERT, Iowa — A juvenile was arrested on Friday for allegedly attacking a female with a knife after knocking on her bedroom window in June.

During the early morning hours of June 8 the Story County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an assault in the 100 block of Thompson Avenue in Gilbert. According to the sheriff’s office, the victim told authorities that someone had been knocking on her bedroom window for several minutes and she went outside to confront them. When she went outside the alleged suspect attacked her with a knife. The victim was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

On Friday the sheriff’s office announced that an arrest has been made in the case. A juvenile male has been charged with the following:

• Assault While Displaying a Dangerous Weapon
• Assault Causing Bodily Injury
• First-Degree Harassment
