A Missouri City man has been indicted by a Wichita County grand jury on charges of trafficking a child and aggravated sexual assault of a child, according to court records.

The charges Kyandrae Chretien, 28, was indicted on are first degree felonies.

If convicted, Chretien could face life in prison. Anyone charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless convicted in a court of law.

The indictments are the result of an incident on Nov. 11, 2023, when a 12-year-old Wichita Falls girl was reported missing as a runaway.

The girl disappeared from the 1100 block of Harlan Lane and was reported possibly in the company of a 28-year-old man. Her disappearance was reported by multiple media outlets across Texas.

A Navasota police officer spotted a suspect car on Nov.14 and stopped it following a short chase, according to allegations.

They found the girl safe in the car and arrested the driver, Chretien, on two warrants for aggravated sexual assault.
