Starting Saturday, July 20, the Kansas Department of Transportation will close the ramps from northbound I-235 to northbound I-135 and northbound I-235 to eastbound K-254. KDOT says the ramp closures are necessary for new sign footing installation. The work will occur from 5 a.m. until noon on Saturday, July 20, after which the ramps will be reopened to motorists.

Traffic will be directed to southbound I-135. KDOT urges all motorists to be alert and obey the warning signs when approaching and driving through a highway work zone. To stay aware of all road construction projects across Kansas, go to kandrive.gov or call 511.

Further east in Butler County, work is expected to begin Monday, July 22, on a culvert repair on U.S. 400. The repair, overseen by the Kansas Department of Transportation, is at Tallgrass Road, west of Beaumont, on U.S. 400. Back in May, after KDOT discovered the need for the repair, traffic at the location has been reduced to one lane and controlled by traffic signals. The traffic restriction will continue during the work, and motorists should continue to be prepared to slow down and stop and expect delays of up to 15 minutes. The work is expected to be completed around Sept. 19.
