The American Athletic Conference unveiled the home-away pairings for the upcoming 2024-25 men’s basketball season on Thursday, as Wichita State’s schedule took another step toward being completed.
With SMU departing the conference this summer, the league will still conduct an 18-game schedule with each team assigned six home-and-home series, plus three home-only opponents and three road-only opponents.
The Shockers will play East Carolina, Tulane and UAB only at Koch Arena, while they will only play Florida Atlantic, Rice and Temple on the road. WSU will play Charlotte, Memphis, North Texas, South Florida, Tulsa and UTSA both home and away.
The conference season will begin on Dec. 31 and run through March 9, as the 13-team conference tournament will be held at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas from March 12-16.
The complete conference schedule with dates, times and TV assignments is expected to be released by the AAC sometime in September. WSU is also working to put the finishing touches on its nonconference schedule, which should include two more games announced in the coming weeks.
The WSU women’s basketball team also learned its conference pairings on Thursday, as the Shockers will play Florida Atlantic, Rice and South Florida at home only and East Carolina, Memphis and Temple on the road only with home-and-home series with Charlotte, North Texas, Tulane, Tulsa, UAB and UTSA.
