Williamsport, Pa. – A new on-site health and fitness center has recently opened on the campus of The Williamsport Home (TWH).

Williamsport Wellness is open only to residents of the Loyalsock Township continuing care retirement community campus , according to a news release.

TWH staff hosted a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for for the facility, giving residents, staff, and the community an opportunity to tour the center and explore its amenities. Coordinator Kaleb Roudabush cut the ribbon alongside TWH Executive Director Jen Cisneros and TWH residents, according to the release.

“Williamsport Wellness is a wonderful addition to our campus, and our goal is to utilize the center to its full potential so our residents can live longer, healthier, and happier lives,” Roudabush said. “The residents are excited and many have already incorporated a visit to the wellness center into their daily routine.”

Physical activity is important for most everyone, but it can benefit seniors in impactful ways. Seniors who exercise have stronger muscle, flexibility, and better balance. The center at TWH features weights and exercise machines selected for their effectiveness, low risk of injury, and ease of use by seniors. Residents of TWH’s campus can utilize Williamsport Wellness at their convenience and participate in regularly scheduled health and fitness classes and workshops led by Roudabush, according to the release.

“Williamsport Wellness is focused on providing the highest level of care, identifying residents’ needs, and creating a personalized journey enabling residents to live healthier lives and embrace new concepts and experiences at any age,” Roudabush added.

TWH, located at 1900 Ravine Road in Williamsport, was founded in 1872 and offers levels of care ranging from independent living to skilled nursing, short-term rehabilitation, memory care, and end of life care.
