Williamsport, Pa. — Despite skipping a June trial, 12 jurors found Dondre Terrell McMillen of South Williamsport guilty of five felonies and a misdemeanor.

A warrant was issued for McMillan shortly after the verdict was returned on June 21 at the Lycoming County Courthouse in Williamsport. The 30-year-old McMillan cut an electronic monitor off his ankle the day of the trial, according to an affidavit.

A day before the trial, McMillan went to the courthouse for jury selection, Lycoming County detectives said. McMillan was allegedly inside the courtroom when Judge William Carlucci ordered a trial for the next day.

On the day of the trial, McMillan’s lawyer called him while in the presence of detectives, according to the complaint. A message saying the number was disconnected could be heard inside the room. The previous day, McMillan had allegedly told his attorney he would be in court for the trial.

McMillan is being charged with third-degree felony flight to avoid apprehension. He was found guilty of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, criminal use of a communication facility, fleeing from police, criminal mischief, and escape.
