Dana Coon returns to middle school roots at Fowlerville Junior High
FOWLERVILLE — Fowlerville Junior High will see a familiar face take over as principal in August. Dana Coon has been tapped for the role, pending board approval next month. Coon most recently served as assistant principal at Smith Elementary. She has 14 years of experience teaching sixth grade and additional experience working with seventh and eighth graders.

Local Shooters Take Part in the USA High School Clay Target League National Championship
Brody Lenington of Cedar Vale-Dexter High School (KS) won the 2024 USA High School Clay Target League National Championship Individual crown on Sunday, July 14th in Mason, Michigan. Lenington edged out a field of over 1,800 registered other high school students vying for the title of National Champion. Lenington shot a perfect 100-straight, and then survived a shoot-off with 14 other athletes that also shot perfect scores in the final day’s competition.
Lansing Public School faces backlash over proposal to eliminate library positions in schools
Parents of students at Lansing schools raised concerns at the district’s school board meeting Thursday about a proposal to remove some of the district’s librarians. School officials are planning to reduce the number of full-time certified librarians for K-through-8 schools from four to two and add 34 school aides 'to support literacy instruction and library usage.'
