A restaurant that offered wings, nachos and wraps with a healthier approach is closed. On social media, owner Ryan Trotter announced that Point Break restaurant would close as of July 19 “to start our new chapter.” He thanked his customers and said he has a heavy heart about closing the fast-casual eatery at 7134 Market St., near the Publix grocery store in Ogden.

“This decision was incredibly difficult and came after much deliberation. Our core values have always centered on family and community, and it is in staying true to these values that we have made this choice as owners, parents, and a family,” Trotter wrote in the post.

“We are immensely proud of our achievements...  As we move on to new adventures and family business ventures, we are both saddened and excited about what the future holds.”

After starting as a food delivery business, Point Break opened as a storefront in 2021. They offered grilled chicken wings, baked sides and the popular Beach Bomber Nachos, topped with diced chicken, surfers' salad, and mozzarella cheese.  Trotter has also been operating the mobile Wings on Wheels food trailer, and continuing that is being discussed, he said.

Point Break isn’t the only restaurant that has had difficulties in this area. Morgan’s Seafood at 7150 Market St. closed last year. And “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” alum, Josh Petty of Cast Iron Kitchen, has discussed the challenges of keeping his restaurant going.
