A new location for Elka Bee’s Coffee and Bakery is coming to Wilsonville this summer, replacing Corner Coffee Shoppe.

Owner Sylvia Hartman said the shop, currently based in Clackamas, is expected to introduce a Wilsonville location in August. The shop will open next to Safeway in Town Center, at the former location of Corner Coffee Shoppe.

Hartman said the business in Clackamas has been a “really big success” after an expansion and remodel during the COVID-19 pandemic, and some customers from Wilsonville and Tualatin mentioned wanting an Elka Bee’s closer by.

Although she was not actively looking to open a new shop, when the opportunity came Hartman agreed to add a smaller version of Elka Bee’s in Wilsonville. She said she previously owned a restaurant in Tualatin before closing it due to the pandemic and missed being in the area.

Elka Bee’s offers breakfast, lunch and bakery items, along with coffee. Hartman said the food is baked in house and the menu includes stuffed French toast, panini sandwiches, salads and more.

Hartman described the shop as inviting and homey, with a European feel. The shop in Clackamas has a tea room, and Hartman said the paintings along the walls look like they are from Europe.

Hartman wants the Wilsonville community to know that Elka Bee’s is family-oriented and passionate about providing a good customer experience.

“We love what we do, and that’s taking care of our customers and ensuring they have a great meal with us,” Hartman said.
