Man injured in lightning strike at rodeo arena died
JOHNSON COUNTY, Mo. —A man injured in a lightning strike in Johnson County, Missouri has died, the city reported Monday. Just after 11p.m. Friday, emergency services responded to the Holden Chamber of Commerce Rodeo at the City of Holden Park, 311, East 10th Street, after a report of a person struck by lightning in the parking area.
Cole Camp Man Injured After Crashing in Sedalia
A Cole Camp man was injured in a one-vehicle accident that occurred early Sunday morning in Sedalia. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a southbound 2012 Acura TSX, driven by 20-year-old Hawk F. Hagston of Cole Camp, failed to stop for Sedalia Police and failed to maintain his lane. And at 17th and Osage, the Acura went airborne, skidded and struck a tree.

Two family pets perished in a residential structure fire Tuesday morning in Leeton. Attentive neighbors reported smoke coming from the residence shortly after 9 a.m. July 2. The residents were not home at the time of fire. Personnel arrived to find heavy fire conditions and initiated an aggressive fire attack.

Stover Motorcyclist Injured in Benton County
A Stover man was injured in a motorcycle accident that occurred Tuesday evening in Benton County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that an eastbound 2003 Honda VTX, driven by 45-year-old Richard W. Lee of Stover, was on Route WW, west of Brushy Chapel Avenue around 7:20 p.m., when Lee said he struck an animal in the roadway and the bike overturned, ejecting the rider.
