    Police Reports: Stolen cars in Winnetka and Kenilworth and more activity from the week

    These reports were pulled from the latest police summaries provided by departments in our coverage area (Wilmette, Winnetka, Highland Park, Northfield, Kenilworth and Glencoe).

    WILMETTE (Updated at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 5)

    Feb. 3

    • A Northfield man was arrested for allegedly fleeing multiple traffic stops and violating several traffic laws. The driver reportedly was eventually detained by the Northfield Police Department.

    Jan. 29

    • Change and two keys reportedly were stolen from a car in the 1700 block of Elmwood Avenue.

    • An unlocked car with the keys inside reportedly was stolen the 2200 block of Thornwood Avenue.

    WINNETKA

    Jan. 25

    • A mailed check reportedly was stolen, altered and cashed for $1,350.

    Jan. 22

    • A car reportedly was stolen overnight from a driveway in the 1200 block of Cherry Street. The vehicle reportedly was later recovered in Chicago.

    • A mailed check reportedly was stolen, altered and cashed in an amount exceeding $5,000.

    GLENCOE

    Jan. 29

    • An employee of a business in the 600 block of Vernon Avenue reportedly was scammed out of $400 after receiving an email from a sender purporting to be the principal of the high school and asking for money in Amazon gift cards.

    HIGHLAND PARK

    Jan. 28

    • A backpack and textbooks reportedly were stolen from a car overnight in the 110 block of Kent Avenue.

    Jan. 24

    • A package reportedly was stolen from a home in the 600 block of Homewood Avenue.

    NORTHFIELD

    Jan. 27

    • Police reportedly broke up a physical altercation at the Illinois Department of Transportation facility at 2 S. Happ Road. No charges were filed, according to the report.

    KENILWORTH

    Jan. 27

    • A locked car reportedly was stolen overnight from a driveway in the 200 block of Raleigh Road. The vehicle, which was reportedly heavily damaged, was found in Chicago on Jan. 31, the report says.
