Capturing Cokato exhibit is now open at The Cokato Museum
The Capturing Cokato exhibit at the Cokato Museum opened July 1 and showcases the legacy of the Gust Akerlund Photography Studio. The Museum Director, Johanna Ellison, said the studio was built in the 1890s as far as they can tell, and the studio is on the National Register of Historic Places list, which, according to the National Park Service, is “the official list of the nations historic places worthy of preservation.

12th Annual Darwin Night ends with Blues winning 10-3
The 12th annual Darwin Night at Dassel Ball Park took place July 10, where the Litchfield Blues played the Dassel-Cokato Saints. The gates opened at 6 p.m. with barbecue food, music, and The Dassel Ambassadors giving out root beer floats. The night also had a t-shirt raffle, twine ball racing, and an opportunity for people to get together and catch up with others they might not have seen in a while.

Area youth partake in STEM summer camp
Last week, area youth had the opportunity to partake in a week-long camp dedicated to teaching STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) core concepts and principles. Camp Invention took place at the Buffalo Middle School from July 8 - 12, where classrooms were turned into studios and laboratories that stimulated the creative imaginations and sharpened the minds of these young inventors.
