Roseburg wrestlers reach Greco-Roman podium at Fargo Nationals
FARGO, N. Dak. — Three Roseburg wrestlers finished on the podium at the National Greco-Roman Championships in Fargo, North Dakota on Saturday at the Fargodome. Drew Dawson and Daniel Patrick both earned All-American status in the 16U Cadet Division. Dawson, the 9-seed at 100 pounds, upset 5-seed Coy Mehlert from Iowa with a technical fall to finish in fifth place. Daniel Patrick, the 12-seed at 157 pounds, got a technical fall over 4-seed Max Harris from Kansas to place fifth.

Oregon is first state to join free filing option for federal taxes
When Oregonians file their federal taxes next year, they’ll have a new free option. According to a release from the U.S. Department of the Treasury and Internal Revenue Service, Oregon is the first state to join the IRS Direct File software program, which allows people to file their taxes for free. The program was pilot tested in 12 states – Arizona, California, Florida, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Nevada, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington and Wyoming. ...
Oregon Parks and Recreation seeks public comment for camping rate range increases
The Oregon Parks and Recreation Department is considering rate range increases for camping and facility fees for the public and is seeking comment on the proposed changes. The rate increases are necessary due to increased utility costs, operations, maintenance needs and inflation, OPRD said in a news release. The rate range increases would not increase fees automatically. The range gives flexibility to adjust the fees within the range over time and avoids large increases all at once, OPRD said.
