Ashley Tessmer hired as associate principal of Lincoln High School in Wisconsin Rapids

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Lincoln High School announced Thursday the hiring of Ashley Tessmer as associate principal.

Tessmer has served the Wisconsin Rapids Public School District for 17 years as a marketing and business education teacher. She has also served as an advisor for DECA and the prom committee and supervised the school store.

“I am excited to be the newest Associate Principal at Lincoln High School. I am looking forward to taking on this new role,” Tessmer said in the news release. “I know first-hand that LHS is home to dedicated staff who are willing to go above and beyond the call of duty to meet the needs of our students.”

Tessmer’s hiring to the leadership position follows a number of leadership changes in the district including the hiring of Ron Rasmussen as district superintendent in May and Rod Watson as Lincoln High School principal in July.

Tessmer was inspired in her youth by great educators to pursue the field of education as a career, she said. She holds master’s degrees in education from the University of Wisconsin-Stout and education administration from UW-Superior. She received her bachelor’s degree in marketing and business education from UW-Stout.

“Moving to Wisconsin Rapids all those years ago was the best decision that I ever made. As a community, you welcomed me with open arms and I have had the privilege of working with thousands of students that I now get the privilege of watching their success stories unfold,” Tessmer said in the release. “I am grateful for the opportunity to continue serving our students, staff, and community in this new capacity.”
