Thompson announces new field director for Natchez office

NATCHEZ, Miss. ( WJTV ) – U.S. Representative Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.) announced a new case manager and field director for his Natchez office, which serves Adams, Amite, Franklin and Wilkinson counties.

Xavier Hawkins will replace Jacqueline Marsaw, who resigned after a controversial Facebook post she made after the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump.

Hawkins is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi. Upon graduation, he joined the campaign for former U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Mike Espy, who ran for U.S. Senate in 2020. Hawkins also worked with Stacey Abrams during her 2021 gubernatorial campaign.

Before accepting his current role with Thompson, Hawkins served as the Assistant Purchase Clerk for the Adams County Board of Supervisors.
