    VIDEO: Suspects take 27 firearms from gun museum

    (WJW) – Three men have been charged in connection with the theft of 27 firearms from a museum.

    The alleged theft occurred in the early hours of Sunday, August 25 at the Lithgow Small Arms Factory Museum.

    Surveillance footage released by New South Wales Police shows the suspects breaking into the museum at approximately 3:30 a.m.

    The getaway vehicle was later found abandoned and burned out.

    The stolen weapons were valued at more than $100,000.

    The arrested individuals, aged 46, 41, and 21, face multiple charges related to the break-in. Their identities have not been disclosed.

    The Lithgow Small Arms Factory Museum announced on Facebook that the theft had caused “immeasurable” damage and stated that the museum would remain closed indefinitely as it assesses the impact of the incident.

    Authorities are continuing their investigation into the case. Police have not yet disclosed whether additional suspects are being sought.

    Police said they have recovered 13 of the stolen weapons.
