(WKBN) – Sales figures in Ohio for the first three weeks of recreational sales have held steady each week — though the money being spent on medical marijuana is decreasing.

According to Ohio’s Prevention Action Alliance, sales figures ending Saturday, August 24 show that over the first 19 days — $32.9 million worth of recreational marijuana has been sold — or an average of $1.7 million a day.

Meanwhile, since July 1, sales of medical marijuana have dropped 19 percent. Still, together both medical and recreational marijuana sales last week in Ohio were $18.4 million.

During the first five days of sales, the price increased from $222 to $266 an ounce — an increase of 20 percent but has since fallen to $258 an ounce.
