Robertsdale Youth Baseball League to host charity tournament

ROBERTSDALE, Ala. ( WKRG ) — The Robertsdale Youth Baseball League is hosting a softball tournament to raise money for a family in the community.

According to a press release, the Robertsdale Youth Baseball League Sandlot Tournament is scheduled for Sept. 7 at 8:45 a.m.

The tournament, which is for ages 7 to 12, helps to benefit the family of a girl named Elsie Claire.

Elsie Claire is a 2-year-old who was diagnosed with a rare LMNA muscular dystrophy earlier this year. There is currently no cure for the disease.

Registration for the tournament is $40.

“A portion of the proceeds from the fundraiser will go to helping this little one’s family with travel expenses, therapy/medical treatments, etc,” the release said. “Share the word and let’s show this family true community support. “
