For example, a tanker from the Cottontown Fire Department made 10 trips, hauling about 20,000 gallons of water since the closest fire hydrant was more than two miles away, according to fire officials.

The White House Community Volunteer Fire Department said the blaze ended up in the attic of the house, so the garage and the house were “pretty much a total loss, but it was not due to the valiant effort of our firefighters.”

Officials said one firefighter was treated and transported to the Hendersonville ER for observation while several other firefighters were treated at the scene and released.

“This fire required an enormous amount of water, man power, teamwork and coordination. It demonstrated the good working relationship between the volunteer and city fire departments,” the Cottontown Fire Department posted on Facebook.
