    Social media threat leads to Bay Co. schools on lockdown

    PANAMA CITY, Fla. ( WMBB ) – Bay District School staff said students are safe following a precautionary hard lockdown at Bay High School Wednesday morning.

    Around 9 a.m., multiple law enforcement agencies responded to Bay High School after school officials said a disturbing social media post was made.

    According to the Bay County Sheriff’s Office, the scene is secure and there is no active shooter.

    Deputies said the post included a threat of violence on campus.

    The threat is under investigation.

    Bay District officials also put Jinks Middle School on a precautionary soft lockdown due to the law enforcement presence at Bay High.

    Officials said there is no direct threat at Jinks Middle School.
