$50,000 will go to the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at FSU Panama City 30A, and $30,000 will go to the Collegiate School at FSU Panama City.

OLLI offers educational, non-credit courses as well as trips, socials, and events to adults age 50 and up.

The Collegiate School is a laboratory charter school offering tuition-free, college and career prep curriculum.

St. Joe Community Foundation Executive Director April Wilkes said supporting education is one of their biggest priorities.

“It’s one of our pillars, one of our major pillars. We actually provide more than 50% of our funding goes towards education and that’s integral for the community.”

OLLI FSU Panama City Learning Coordinator Margaret Gamble said the money will help students of all ages continue learning.

“Learning never stops, and we want our high schoolers to know that, but we also want people later in life to understand there’s still so much to find out about in this world and keep you engaged and keep you interested and feed your soul through learning.”

Organizations affiliated with non-profits are able to apply for St. Joe Community Foundation grants.
