GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Police say a person of interest is in custody after a bank robbery on Grand Rapids’ northeast side.

Officers responded around 2:20 p.m. Friday to a bank alarm at the Lake Michigan Credit Union on Leonard Street NE near Plymouth Avenue NE, according to a release from the Grand Rapids Police Department.

By the time police arrived, the suspect had fled, the release says.

Police say a weapon was implied, though bank employees didn’t actually see a weapon. No one was hurt, investigators say.

The FBI also responded to the scene.

Authorities are investigating. If you know anything, you’re asked to contact GRPD at 616.456.3380 or Silent Observer at 616.774.2345.
