    40-year-old arrested, accused of dealing drugs on Michigan school grounds

    GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A northern Michigan man has been arrested , accused of selling drugs on a school property.

    Michigan State Police’s Straits Area Narcotics Enforcement team announced on Monday that 40-year-old Charles Beckner, from Gaylord, was arrested last Thursday.

    SANE troopers conducted a traffic stop on a school property and found that he had 57 grams of methamphetamine and 13 grams of crack cocaine, along with evidence that he was selling the drugs. MSP did not say at what school Beckner was found.

    He was lodged in the Otsego County Jail and arraigned on four different drug charges, including holding a controlled substance on school property. He was given a $50,000 cash surety bond.

    SANE credited officers from the Gaylord Police Department and the MSP Gaylord Post with helping in the arrest.
