Wood Village’s summer lunch program makes its return next week, offering local students a safe place to play and get nutrition.

The Free Summer Lunch Program, hosted by Play East - East County Recreation, begins Monday, July 9, at Donald Robertson Park, 24300 N.E. Halsey St. Activities will be held from 11 a.m. to noon, with lunch served noon to 1 p.m. All will be done at the picnic shelter.

The program goes Monday-Friday through Aug. 9. Each day will have different types of activities, including arts and crafts, field games, board games, scooter lessons and more. The meals must be eaten on-site.

Play East is a collaborative program between the cities of Fairview and Wood Village, and provides recreational opportunities for residents and those in the Reynolds School District. Learn more at playeast.org.
