ADM’s Tollari Earns 2nd Team All Conference Honors for Softball
A junior from the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Softball team works her way onto 2nd Team All Conference. Aniston Tollari is coming off her junior year where the Tigers competed in the Class 4A State Championship game on July 25th. Tollari appeared in 40 games in the 2024 season stepping up for 106 at-bats, scoring 26 runs off 31 hits. She had 23 singles, seven doubles, and a big home run in the Regional Championship game versus Winterset. Tollari was fourth on the team with 20 RBI’s and led ADM with nine stolen bases.

Dallas Center Family Apart of Seven to Receive 2024 Way We Live Award

The Iowa State Fair has selected Brewer Farms out of Dallas Center as a representative for the 2024 Way We Live Award. According to the State Fair Association, this is the 16th year the award has been given out, recognizing 89 Iowa families. Brewer Farms has been in operation since 1875, serving Dallas Center with 125 cow/calf pairs. The fair association claims that family members are involved with the Dallas County Fair on some level each year.

Multiple Thunderstorms Blanketed the Raccoon Valley Radio Area Tuesday Morning
Multiple rounds of thunderstorms pelted the Raccoon Valley Radio area overnight and Tuesday morning. The first set of severe thunderstorm warnings were issued by the National Weather Service just after 1am until 3am for most of Greene, Guthrie and Dallas Counties. Guthrie County Sheriff Marty Arganbright reported strong winds and small tree branches were down, along with outdoor furniture was blown around in Guthrie Center, but no property damage or injuries were reported. Greene County Sheriff Jack Williams said there was 60 miles per hour winds and heavy rainfall across the county during the four severe thunderstorm warnings.
