West Nile Has Been Found in Iowa Mosquitoes
The good news is that at the time of writing, no humans in Iowa have yet tested positive for the West Nile virus. Mosquitos on the other hand have been found containing the virus in central Iowa. According to KCRG, mosquitoes were trapped at a park in West Ames sometime in mid-July. The park where these mosquitoes were found is sprayed or fogged every Wednesday night. Some of these mosquitoes contained the West Nile virus.

ADM’s Madi James Receives Honorable Mention for All-Conference
Junior Madi James, from the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Softball team, is credited for earning an honorable mention for all-conference. James played in 39 games this season, stepping up to the plate for 115 at-bats. The junior scored 28 runs on 30 hits, capturing 19 singles, eight doubles, one triple, and two home runs. James had an on base percentage of .325. Defensively, she a left fielder who garnered 37 putouts and had three errors on the year.
