Claiming the number seven spot for PCM top sports stories of the 2023-2024 school year is the PCM Boys Golf Team finishing second at their sectional meet. The Mustangs scored 314 as a team in the 18-hole event at River Bend Golf Course in Story City competing alongside several talented teams. Nick Farver had the low score for PCM shooting a 76 as Pete Kiernan shot a 78, and Easton VanVeen shot a 79. On April 30th the Mustangs took first in their conference meet at Lincoln Valley Golf Course in State Center to be crowned Heart of Iowa Conference Champions. Unfortunately the Mustangs fell just short of a trip to the state tournament as they placed tied for third at their district meet held at Pleasant Valley Golf Course in Iowa City.

Owen Myers Named All District 1st Team
The accolades continue to pour in for Perry junior Owen Myers. He was most recently named to the 3A Southwest All District team. Owen qualified as a utility player has he had a tremendous season pitching and hitting. The righthander went 5-4 with an ERA of 1.63 while striking out 79. In the batter’s box, he hit .391 with 7 doubles and 6 triples. He also stole 24 bases. Owen was one of fifteen guys to make the first team in the Southwest District. This is the third time Owen Myers has been on the All District team. Last year he was on second team and his 8th grade summer he was an Honorable Mention. Owen is the first Bluejay to make first team since Kaleb Olejniczak in 2018.
