CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) – West Virginia International Yeager Airport is taking another step toward sustainability with new bottle filling stations at all gates. The project was done in collaboration with West Virginia American Water.

Airport officials say the goal of the new bottle filling station is to allow travelers to easily refill their own reusable water bottles so they don’t need to rely on single-use plastic bottles while traveling.

“Whether our customers are flying in and out of the airport or visitors come from across the nation and globe, we want them to know that West Virginia American Water is dedicated to ensuring clean, reliable drinking water,” said Rob Burton, WVAW president. “Our initiative to install bottle filling stations in bustling public areas underscores our commitment to environmental responsibility and promotes the advantages of drinking tap water.”

According to CRW, the stations are located near photography of tourist destinations around the Mountain State. The photographs were all taken by award-winning Charleston photographer Chris Gosses.
