    Car crashes into Ripley bank, library

    RIPLEY, WV (WOWK) — A vehicle crashed into a bank and library in Ripley on Friday afternoon, according to Police Chief Bradley Anderson.

    According to Ripley Police Chief Anderson, the call came in just after 2:45 p.m. The driver was taken to the hospital and their condition is unknown, but police said they believe it may have been a medical issue and there was no sign of impairment.

    He said the driver hit the Jackson County Library, another vehicle and then the United Bank, both in the area of the Jackson County Courthouse and Assessor’s Office.

    The library had no structural damage and the driver in the oncoming vehicle was not hurt, Chief Anderson said.

    He said the bank was open when the crash into the conference room happened and no one was injured. The bank is currently closed, according to Chief Anderson.

    The investigation is ongoing.
