    Person struck by vehicle in South Charleston

    SOUTH CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) – One person is being taken to the hospital after being struck by a vehicle in South Charleston.

    According to Kanawha County Metro 911 dispatchers, the incident happened around 12:51 p.m. in the 4100 block of MacCorkle Avenue SW in South Charleston. Dispatchers say the vehicle that struck the person did stay on the scene.

    The pedestrian is being taken to the hospital, but the extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.

    The South Charleston Police Department, South Charleston Fire Department and Kanawha County Emergency Ambulance Authority responded. According to dispatchers, the incident temporarily closed the westbound lane of traffic.
